As a photographer, I spend so much of my time capturing beautiful memories for families. I love it — but there’s something I’ve noticed again and again…
THIS TIME, YOU ARE FIRST.
Mums are usually the ones behind the camera
We’re the ones taking the family photos, making sure everyone else looks their best, remembering the milestones and capturing all those little moments.
But how often do we step in front of the camera ourselves?
So I created The South Burnett Mums Project — a special photo experience created just for mums across our beautiful South Burnett community.
This is your chance to put yourself FIRST for a change.
I’m inviting small groups of local mums to join me for relaxed portrait sessions filled with beautiful photographs, laughter, connection and a little bit of time just for YOU.
We’ll capture a mixture of individual portraits, fun photographs with your mum friends and beautiful group images that celebrate the women who make our communities so special.
You spend so much time creating memories for everyone else.
These aren’t formal, stiff portraits. They’re about capturing you — your personality, your friendships, your laughter and the woman behind the role of “Mum”.
The South Burnett Mums Project will visit different towns and communities throughout the South Burnett, with limited sessions held throughout the year.
Each session will be a little different, but the heart of the project will always remain the same:
Celebrating mums. Celebrating friendship. Celebrating the women behind our families.
There is no session fee for invited participants. In return, I ask that you give permission for me to use selected photographs from the session to use on social media and help me spread the word by sharing your images and tagging Colour Create Photography.
HOW THE SOUTH BURNETT MUMS PROJECT WORKS
It’s simple, relaxed and completely about having a little fun!
1. JOIN THE PROJECT
Each session is made up of a small group of invited mums from the local community. Places are limited so that everyone gets plenty of time in front of the camera.
2. COME & HAVE SOME FUN
We’ll spend around 1–1.5 hours together, capturing a mixture of relaxed individual portraits, fun photographs with your mum friends and beautiful group images.
No modelling experience needed. I’ll guide you through everything!
3. GET YOUR PHOTOS
After the session, you’ll receive a private online gallery containing your professionally edited photographs.
4. HELP ME SPREAD THE LOVE
In exchange for your complimentary session, I ask that you give me permission to use the selected images for marketing and social media.
I’d also love you to share your favourite images, tag Colour Create Photography and help other local mums discover the project.
WHAT EACH MUM RECEIVES
- A 15-minute individual session.
- Group photographs.
- 10 High-Resolution edited images.
- Permission to purchase additional photographs if you wish.
- Permission to use the images for marketing on Social Media.
– No session fee
This project is complimentary for selected mums.
HOW ARE MUMS INVITED?
The South Burnett Mums Project is a little different from a regular photography session.
Each session is kept small and personal, with only a handful of mums invited to take part.
Mums may be invited personally by Colour Create Photography, recommended by another mum, or invited through future project applications.
When putting each group together, I’ll look for a lovely mix of mums, personalities, friendships and local connections. I want each session to reflect the wonderful variety of women who make up our South Burnett communities.
There is no competition and no “perfect mum” checklist.
If you’re invited, it’s simply because I’d love to have YOU be part of the project.
As the project grows, I’ll visit different towns and communities throughout the South Burnett, giving more local mums the opportunity to take part.

Participant Terms & Conditions
Thank you for being part of the South Burnett Mums Project by Colour Create Photography.
This is a complimentary photography project created to celebrate mums and women within the South Burnett community while allowing Colour Create Photography to showcase its photography work.
By accepting an invitation and participating in a session, I acknowledge, understand and agree to the following:
1. COMPLIMENTARY SESSION
The South Burnett Mums Project session is provided free of charge to invited participants.
No booking fee or session fee is payable.
The complimentary nature of the session is offered in exchange for my participation in the project and the permissions outlined in these terms.
2. PARTICIPATION & SESSION DETAILS
I understand that:
- Sessions are limited to a small number of invited participants.
- The session will include individual portraits, photographs with other participating mums and group photographs.
- The photographer will guide and direct me throughout the session.
- The photographer has creative discretion regarding posing, locations, lighting, composition and the final selection of photographs.
- Participating in the project does not guarantee that every photograph taken will be delivered or published.
3. PHOTOGRAPH SELECTION & EDITING
Colour Create Photography will select the photographs that are suitable for editing and delivery.
I understand that:
- RAW files/negatives remain the property of Colour Create Photography and will not be provided.
- Photographs will be professionally edited in the photographer’s chosen style.
- Unedited or rejected photographs will not be supplied.
- I will not crop, alter, apply filters to, or otherwise edit the final photographs before sharing them.
- Colour Create Photography retains full creative control over the final editing and presentation of the photographs.
4. COPYRIGHT & IMAGE USAGE
All photographs remain the copyright and intellectual property of Colour Create Photography.
I grant Colour Create Photography permission to use photographs taken during my participation in the South Burnett Mums Project for:
- Website and portfolio purposes
- Facebook, Instagram and other social media
- Advertising and promotional materials
- Printed marketing materials
- Photography competitions, exhibitions and promotional displays
- Other reasonable business and promotional purposes
I understand that photographs may be displayed publicly and may be viewed by people outside of the South Burnett community.
I understand that I will not receive additional payment or compensation for the use of these photographs.
5. SHARING MY PHOTOGRAPHS
I am encouraged to share my photographs on my own social media.
When sharing photographs from the South Burnett Mums Project, I agree to:
- Tag Colour Create Photography where possible.
- Credit Colour Create Photography where appropriate.
- Not apply filters or substantially alter the photographs.
6. OTHER PEOPLE IN PHOTOGRAPHS
I understand that the project includes group and friendship photographs containing other participating mums.
I agree that photographs containing me may be used by Colour Create Photography as outlined above.
I also agree not to share or publish photographs of another participant without their permission.
7. PRIVACY & PERSONAL INFORMATION
Information provided through the South Burnett Mums Project booking or enquiry form will be used for the purpose of organising and communicating about the photography project.
Colour Create Photography will not sell or provide my personal contact information to unrelated third parties.
8. CANCELLATION & NON-ATTENDANCE
Places for each session are limited.
If I accept an invitation, I understand that my place is being reserved specifically for me.
If I need to cancel, I agree to provide as much notice as possible so that another mum may be offered the opportunity to participate.
If I do not attend the session without reasonable notice, Colour Create Photography reserves the right to exclude me from future South Burnett Mums Project invitations.
9. IMAGE DELIVERY & STORAGE
Photographs will be professionally edited and delivered through a private online gallery.
I understand that:
- The expected delivery timeframe will be communicated for each individual session.
- Colour Create Photography does not guarantee the availability of photographs indefinitely.
- I am responsible for downloading and safely storing my photographs once they have been delivered.
- Colour Create Photography may remove photographs from its storage systems after a reasonable period.
10. TECHNICAL FAILURE & UNFORESEEN CIRCUMSTANCES
While every reasonable care will be taken, Colour Create Photography cannot be held responsible for circumstances outside of its reasonable control, including equipment failure, technical problems, severe weather, illness or other unforeseen circumstances.
Where reasonably possible, the photographer will offer an alternative date or reasonable solution.
11. LIABILITY
I understand that photography involves movement, outdoor locations and other normal activities associated with a portrait session.
I agree to take reasonable care of myself and my personal belongings during the session.
Colour Create Photography will take reasonable care to provide a safe photography environment but cannot accept responsibility for loss, injury or damage caused by circumstances outside of the photographer’s reasonable control.
12. ACCEPTANCE
By submitting my booking or participation form, I confirm that:
- I have read and understood these terms and conditions.
- I am participating voluntarily.
- I understand that this is a complimentary promotional photography project.
- I give Colour Create Photography permission to photograph me.
- I give Colour Create Photography permission to use photographs of me for the purposes outlined above.
- I understand that I will not receive payment for the use of my photographs.
- I agree to the terms and conditions of the South Burnett Mums Project.
